Service ("Outreach") Committee
"To enlist the support of our church family to reach out and serve all of God’s people."
It is important for St. Matthew’s to work with all of God's people to serve and support them, no matter what the need. St. Matthew’s has many outreach programs under way. Some of these programs include:
- Helping with the St. Mark’s on the Campus food pantry by collecting grocery bags of food and delivering them to the pantry on a monthly basis.
- Sponsoring a refugee program by helping a family from another country to resettle in Lincoln.
- Planning a mission project for the church each year. This last spring, we formed a mission team of over 20 members to travel to the Dominican Republic to help our missionaries hard at work in that country.
Our committee consists of 12 enthusiastic members, all who contribute in one way or another. We really have a lot of fun with these projects, and the spiritual reward is far greater than anyone would have imagined.
The Outreach Committee meets at the church every first and third Saturday of the month at 9:00 a.m.
